The lazy designers.. the samurai was made in photoshop by a bored executive splicing together the top of a Fender Performer and the arse of a Katana.. it's really quite ugly.

I don't know about the clear coat, but we always used to use Mod Podge in art class to do that sort of decoupage stuff. I'd bet it would work great for your idea and also create a protective layer bet ...

one of the best fender inventions, EVER.


I don't know who came up with it but it's not fender because my 63-64 Danelectro Pro has a similar but simpler version of the micro-tilt.
