my buddy swapped the neck on his jazzy with an all maple from a mexi strat with heel adjustment for truss rod, as the kinds quite few and far between cause it made a nice difference sound and playabil ... |

Volume should always be Log/Audio. There is a debate on Tone, but Volume should always be Log since your ear hears sound level (volume) differences logarithmically and so the taper is better suited.

CIJ use Alpha pots. Nothing wrong with them at all. All Marshalls use Alphas, infact most thing guitar related will be Alphas in my experience.

I think all you need to do is take one of the jacks from the speaker cable or the guitar lead and wire it up to the speaker leads (if they're long enough etc), that's what I did for my TT.
