What would a decent price be for a Musicmaster? 500 seems good to me but my knowledge of vintage guitars is basically zero.

300 - 350

I guess it depends on what price car, my car cost 1k. in the USA silvertones are cheap, and really cool.

fender wise, i love the fender lead. they are cheaper right now and i think going up in price. and made in the USA.

Just a quick heads-up to the OP (+ Freddy / any other UKers interested in musicmasters), that there's one on ebay right now with a B.I.N. price of 425)
LINK
Not affilliated with this in any way, but as the owner of one I can confirm that 78 musicmasters fucking rule! Wink

That is pretty damn clean!

Better than some I've recently seen at on ebay for the same kind of price.

The prices of these seem to be rocketing too!

These guitars are def a safe bet, I've yet to find a bad one (and that's pretty impressive for the 70s). It looks in fantastic condition too. Selling my 70s MM is one of the most stupid things I've ever done.

I was playing my '65 Vox Tempest at practice last night and felt compelled to mention it in this thread as a suggestion. I paid $700 (well, more like my Gibson LP Studio) for it and it's a nice solid guitar, the pickups are louder and brighter than my Rickenbacker Hi Gains (though they are somewhat microphonic)

Some of the 6 string versions can sell for around $500-600, they're not the prettiest things in the world but they're a solid vintage guitar as opposed to cheapos of that era and something pretty unique.

Here's mine

This one is on sale for $399 at my local store. It's a made at the Dartford factory VOX ACE.

They can still definitely be snagged for a sensible price if you look around. That said, there are always places that'll play the "vintage" card to try & justify charging silly money. There's one in GAK in Brighton right now that they want 899 for!! Rolling Eyes

Agree that these are one of the last lot of affordable pre-80s fenders out there. The necks alone make these a viable proposition for those of us who like the 24" scale (guessing that's most of us!), the simplicity & great sound are the icing on the cake. I can barely put mine down....my other guitars hardly get a look in these days!
