i agree. the worst thing on a telecaster is the body itself. the outline, the lack of contours, i just cant get on with em. they sound good tho.

I'm on the other side of the fence I loves me a telecaster, and any guitar getting a Tele make over is a good thing...

Seen it on eBay, there's a guy selling Tele style pickguards for mustangs and liked the idea.

I could actually see me playing one of those. I like Tele bridges and pickups, but hate the bodies (well, find them really uncomfortable). That would be the best of both worlds, provided the scale worked.

Aye... thought it was a good design. Better than the telemaster as there's not a hundred yards of blank space behind the bridge.

I agree with that...way too chunky and with the longer scale. it never seems to fit my portly bod..on the other hand my duosonic feels ace!

What about this...half n half...The fact that both pick guards are a similar shape pleases the shortscale eye Wink

much better! the telemaster really should have the jag control plate, rather than that standard tele one that looks like it came from a condom machine.

As far as I can tell this has a similar thickness to a Tele and no contours, so I don't see how it speaks to advanced comfort. Teles are way less unwieldy than Jag-Stangs, though I concede that may have more to do with the wonky JS outline throwing the balance off (doesn't stop buttloads of people complaining about their lack of contours though).

Very nice hybrid. I thought about putting Mustang switches on mine but it was too much trouble. I do have an ugly GFS tort Tele guard cut for the Mustang control plate and switches above the pick ups if anyone wants it.
