Hi guys, I've been offered a trade of a JA 90 Jim Adkins tele for my les Paul 70's tribute.
Anyone played/tried one? They look pretty good, kinda fender meets les Paul special vibe. Is it worth a trade? I never play the Gibson and I think the Adkins is actually worth more than my les Paul. Thoughts? _________________ Fingers or Pick?
Not really related but sort of related, I got one of these recently and it is incredible. It's infuriatingly good considering how much more I've spent on other guitars.

The HB stuff is nice... I bought one of their ST-62 strats as a project guitar, I replaced the trem for a Wilkinson one but haven't done any of the other mods I had planned as it already sounds like a good strat.
I played and didn't like the JA tele just didn't like the feel, I'd rather have a Les Paul... but if you're not playing yours it might be the swap for you. _________________ Extreme distortion used discreetly...

Hmmm - not sure Rob. I'd hold on for a week and wait for your LP to shift. Don't think it's worth as much as your LP, and think it would be hell on wheels to sell if/when you decide to flip it.

The Adkins basically is a LP- same bridge, set neck?, scale length, controls, P90s etc. I've seen loads of them for sale second hand, either there are loads of them or the owners don't fancy keeping them. All valued around £350.

£350 is what I've got my les paul up on gumtree for currently. So potentially I'd break even if I did it.
Plus I should really be make dollar not swapping. _________________ Fingers or Pick?

Gumtree seems to always have a couple of those Teles up for sale swap. The last one that sold here went for about £180. They seem to be one of those guitars that nobody seems to keep. I tried that one (mainly due to the price) and it felt quite cheap. It sounded OK but I really didn't like the feel of it.
You'll get a way better trade for the LP if you stick that up and just bide your time.

But yeah, I agree. I think it's a great guitar, but I think you can do better in trade value. _________________ Kicking and squealing Gucci little piggy.

Jimmy Eat World had a huge fucking run of songs and videos from 2001-2004.
starting with Bleed American that dropped like a week before 9/11. the governement made them change it to "american" for years and years before it got changed back to bleed american
in the middle of it they wrote a companion song to the Weezer B-Side Mykel and Carly called Hear You Me. (they were on tour with weezer when they died)
