Gibson 2018
Have you folks seen these yet? I have to say that the LP Tribute is catching my eye. |

The hot pink fade SG and LP are truly, truly vile, and I usually love pink guitars. _________________

Hahahaha true but I think those are the HP models which already have enough "features" I dislike so I've always ignored the models enitrely. |

Although I've never played an LP Studio that sounded decent through a clean amp, that first Studio has a nice coupletoanz and a nice old Gibson acoustic sunburst glow about it + seems to be smelling of stale Coors and WD-40.
Gold Top Classic looks and sounds great.

And speaking of the 2018 line-up...
Moody's has lined-up Gibson for 2018 to a lower Caa3 rating (dropping the 2nd time in 16 months + "negative outlook") , with a juicy $520,000,000 debt to roll over, Beethoven Henry. LANK

They're still flogging the "robot" tuning thing, aren't they. FFS.
The electric blue 'burst is kinda cool, but then I seem to have weird tastes when it comes to LP-style guitars anyway - I've never liked the look of goldtops, and an LP without a pickguard looks "off" somehow.
Besides, I'll just look at the price tags, think "bollocks to that," and save up for something MIJ instead. |

That's a nice one.
I just can't tell with Gibsons anymore though. I could see myself buying a nice Japanese copy instead of a real one these days, though I kinda miss how a real Gibson smells like cancer paint. _________________ https://hauntedcat.bandcamp.com/album/haunted-cat-3 |

Love that new Gibson smell^ I believe it's the polishing compound they use to gloss up the fully finished ones on an arbor.
I was sent running from intrigue in new Gibsons in mid 2014 with the dumbass spec change/price hike combo looming, and never looked back. The only guitar it really prevented me from buying was a Junior, to be fair... but that same year I paid $800 for my '67 Melody Maker D and $450 for my '74 SG-II, and could probably do without all my other guitars except them if I wasn't such a hoarder and nerd. I think the modern company putting me off was meant to be.

I'm not going to spend that much on a guitar, but I do like that seaburst ES-335. Not sure how to poast it. |

My wife would love that. Not that she'd play it, she'd just love the colour. |
