I think SGs are the only guitar able to consistently pull off gold hardware. Not really a fan of playing them or the sound, but they look great, especially with Maestros.

Some Semi Acoustic guitars look good with gold hardware, especially the Gretsch White Falcon.

haha, the dark side has been tempting you a lot lately. Guessing you didn't go for the Silvertone?

I'm getting laid off next week, and no job lined up.

I did promise myself that if I get a job in the next week, I'm going to use my severance check to buy either a semi hollow Gibson or an MIA Tele.

But I'll probably buy a bunch of cheap gear with it and enjoy making weird noises.

I did however just use a bunch of Amazon credit to buy a Hotone Plexi copy for $27.

Yeah, good point on Gretsch (though White Falcon's are a little too showy for me). To move the goalposts: SG maybe most consistent solid body?

I hate chrome hardware on white Les Pauls: it makes them look like toilets.

Gold hardware looks good on Explorers too.
