Hahaha, they do look dead good though. But:
1.) I'm not trying to make this guitar an all-rounder
2.) Would have to use the Tripleshot rings because the wiring looks nightmarish
3.) Pickup rings on a Strat with a scratchplate, vomit_emoji.gif |

1.) You're concerned about it being too versatile? Just ignore the sounds that you don't need.
2.) The wiring isn't too bad, but it would mean having to install switches on the strat, up to four if you wanted all the options that the triplepshot gives. But if you only wanted hot humbucker/split as p-90, I wonder if there's a way of simplifying it....
3.) yep. You could appease yourself by telling yourself it's a nod to kurtz jag. but it'll still look shite... _________________

1) I'm not spaffing 200 quid on pickups and switching for a beat-up bitsa Squier Strat that I don't need a million options fer, like.
2) Yeah, don't see why not. I guess after you've bought some nice push-pull pots you're not far from the Tripleshot prices anyways.
3) i don't have teh kurdtz, i am teh kurdtz **
It doesn't look too bad there, tbh, with the bright coils and the rings that kinda blend into the pickguard.
Gonna muse on it, maybe the next build is a gonna be P-Raily, but not this one. Related, fuuuuuuuu

Well, that's for a pair plus two of those Tripleshot mounting rings; that's a better deal than buying em all separately but still, yeah.
Keeping my eye for a used bridge one. |

I must admit, being out of the guitar market for at least two years I've fell behind with how costly things are now.
When I got that Epi SG I couldn't believe how poor the bridge pup was (turned out it was a neck position bucker, but that's another story...), so started looking for an up grade. Crikey, there were no Seymour Duncan under £50 second hand, DiMarzio not much better.
I remember the days of JB's for £25.
Ended up taking a gamble on a Gibson 498T that had its cable cut ridiculously short (still £25 though). I managed to extend the cables and it sounds great.
It's Brexits fault. _________________

i think maton wind their pickups to something ridiculous like 40k then tap them at one point for split and tap them a bit harder for both coils which ends up with them sounding full in both modes |

I brought my Strat back to London to put in the new scratchplate with DUAL AFGs, but fell in love with how it sounded and felt as it was hahaha.
I'm gonna make some hardtail thing to bung 'em in later this year, I fink. |
