Good to know. It would be interesting to see it and this new colour side by side. I guess I could take my Marauder down to Andertons.... |
Tidepool, in the photos, looks less saturated/vibrant, perhaps? I still really dig it, and functionally, they’re likely “the same”... kinda like Pelham and LPB are different, but samey. _________________

Yeah, that was dumb as fuck. "Ungh it doesnt look like the old one! And the strings don't fly off the bridge when I play hard! UNgh! I hate it! Stability is for cavemen!"
I played a bunch of these at NAMM.
All the satin necks make me sad, but at least some of the basses have glossed fretboards, which helps.
I especially liked the new player P-bass. It's a really nice weight and neck shape.
I thought I would be over the moon for the Jaguar bass, but both models on display were 300 pounds. Also I didnt get to play one with a maple neck, so I reserve judgement.
All in all this satin neck shit has really turned some top drawer instruments into compromises. I might be in the minority though, Fender usually pays pretty close attention to what sells. _________________ High quality, low popularity Ecstatic Fury

The reverb handle assembly wasn't as visually striking closer to the bridge on the Jazzmaster as it was on the Jaguar.
Satin necks, well I guess they have to mirror the lower end Squiers in the Fender range. |

Gloss if it's polyurethane.
Gloss it it's nitro too, but I'll complain about it every once in awhile. _________________

i think technically i prefer a satin neck, but that's not a determining factor in a purchase _________________ Check out Runway Runaway by Saturday's Child

Gloss necks are kind of sticky, satin necks are smooth, but agree it's only one thing out of several that make a neck comfortable to play _________________
