|
|
ok i got this 25 key computer controler made by E-mu. i never use the fuckin thing.
i got this 4 octave casio keyboard also.
the emu keyboard has a midi out jack on it. the casio has a midi in and a midi out. also a headphone out so i can plug it into a amp.
if i plugged the emu keyboard into the casio keyboard and then ran it to an amp what would happen ? would anything happen? would the emu keyboard use the tone bank in the casio to work ? |

That seems pretty superfluous and cumbersome. _________________

Why not just plug the Casio into the amp and play the built-in keyboard? _________________

it is.
i guess what im asking is can i get both keyboards going at the same time ? so i can play with one hand on each (like i am in genesis)? if i plug the one into the other ?
if that doesn't work then i am throwing up my hands and declaring that MIDI is stupid and sucks |

The EE-MU is just a controller, it doesn't make any sound itself- hooking it up to the Casio would just mean you're inputting note values from the EE-MU's keys rather than the Casio's. And I guess maybe the pitch and modulation wheels. Hardly worth it really, I'm not sure both keyboards will make sound at the same time, and even then you're only going to be able to play the same notes.
It's worth getting a USB MIDI interface, downloading a few programmes and fucking about with VST plug-ins and making coolaaaaaass synth sounds- PUT THE TIME IN WHILE YOU STILL CAN, DADROE. _________________ musics |

What's the Casio??? Is it Multitimbral?? If so you could set the Emu to transmit on say Midi Ch2, you could assign different sounds on the Casio to that channel from the Casio keyboard.....if that makes sense. _________________ Don't look at me I'm irrelevant! |

Just looked it up, it's not multitimbral, so you could only play the same sound with the Emu as you could with the Casio. Kind of pointless hooking up the Emu to be honest. _________________ Don't look at me I'm irrelevant! |

Is that Casio in tune? I have a similar kid's tonebank style casio and I can plug it into my amp, the only problem is its ever so slightly flat (or sharp,... can't remember), so I rarely use it. |

i don't use guitar tuners. everything i do is by ear. so i have no idea.
if im using a guitar with the keyboard i would just tune the guitar in key with the keyboard.
fuck an tunar |

plug the controler's midi out to the casio's midi in...I guess it's more comfortable to play the full size keys of the controller... _________________ I'll see you in hell with the rest of the trash |
