So my computer with Protools bit the dust and I was hoping you guys could point me to a thread or device/program to get started again on a new computer.
I've used the Protools on the computer with an M-Box for so many years. It would be nice to have something new I suppose that won't set me back. I mainly need an editing program, maybe a computer drum machine and a NICE intuitive input device. I found the MBOX input device flimsy and pissed me off with shit on both sides to worry about.
Anyway... any starting point to go looking would be nice.
Thanks! _________________ I am the Earth-Toned Goth |

I've recently started using Cubase which is a pretty sweet program, if not a little confusing at times.
How about the lexicon omega or something similar? Depends how many inputs you need/budget.
Oh and Abbey Roads Drums by I think Native Instruments sounds amazing, some guy was showing me it yesterday. _________________ www.gabrielwareing.com |

That Unit looks really nice! Similar, it seems to many I've looked at including the Tascam US-122mkii. They all come with Cubase which is cool. My concern with all of them is that I am using Windows 7 and I'm afraid to get caught up in old driver issues or a company that isn't updating their software. Anyone have experience with Windows 7 and one of these USB AIs?
That drum program looks impressive and probably crazy spendy. ($120 I just saw) I would like something like that though. Good sounding samples on a drum machine would be amazing. Does that run as a seperate instrument you would then import into Cubase like Reason or something? Like it plugs in? _________________ I am the Earth-Toned Goth |

I saw it being used as a plug in, its the best sounding computer trigger drums I've ever heard though.
