I have been drawing hot rods off and on my whole life and made tee shirts and posters. I even painted skulls on a car once, in the 80s! Yet the thought never occurred to me to try pinstriping. I have decent brush control and may even still have a few old cans of One Shot from 1988. It must be solid by now.

I have been spending time on the Jalopy Journal site, and now poking around at SketchKult. Does anyone here do any? Any recommendations? I am tempted to try urethane over enamel because the cleanup is better, but I don't know what the compatibilities are.

As with everything I do, either I start and lose interest, or I research the fuckity shit out of it and then get wholly immersed. It's annoying, but if it sticks, I can come up to speed pretty quickly. This benefits you because you can see my progress and be inspired, but I can also (in theory) eventually do some custom work. Hint: this includes guitars, pickguards, FX boxes, and even guitar cases. I have a feeling that people who need the practice end up painting everything they own.

This sounds really really cool. I hope you find something to paint soon... Smile

I think you're correct in that assessment based on the gear I've seen pinstripers carry.
