There are a few good free plugins here. Also, demos of expensive ones.

Sweet, i couldn't remember the fish dude's site. I can't ever the damn THD saturator to work on my shit, it just comes in a fucks around bluuzuzaulwsdyal and all that. what.

http://www.gvst.co.uk/
I like the way these plugins look. I use the delay a lot.

http://asseca.com/kvr/nickcrow.htm
Some well regarded tube saturation plugins.

http://www.jeroenbreebaart.com/audio_vst.htm
Check out FEROX (also known as JB Ferox). It's my go-to saturation plugin right now. Try it on everything!

http://bootsy.cr68.com/plug/TesslaSE_1.0.rar
Tessla SE - "modelling pleasant sounding 'electric effects' coming from transformer coupled tube circuits in a digital controlled fashion. "
I use this a lot too.

http://bootsy.cr68.com/plug/Rescue_Release_1.1.rar
Another plug by the Tessla SE guy. This is like a stereo imaging doodad.

Crystal is a great free soft synth with loads of weird sounds to be had if you're into that kind of electro thing....

I must say that Crystal = Jesus' cousin.
Also, Vinyl from Izotope is cool and free, but everything else they make is bloody expensive.

I use Da-Hornet quite a bit, it does a great ‘icky thump’ type tone (very retro).

All of these plugins are fantastic. I believe almost all are available for Windows in VST and OS X as VST and AU.

The original Dub Echo is great for a Space Echo kind of sound, and the Uno-62 is a based on a Roland Juno 60, which is one of my favorite synths.
