if it was a 196x it could almost be called "god condition other than the break" but for a 98 thats a fucking shambles

thats sad, really.
a 98 and its that bad,
the only reason thats excusable is if all those happened as once, like a bad car wreck, otherwise it was some bad emo bad, fuckin emo kids.

Was that a production model with the 3 firebird pickups?

A simple google search for "SG Deluxe" didn't yield much.

Very cool model if it was available.

I've read the explanations of your condition descriptions, and I'm completely baffled as to how this warrants a 'VGC'. The neck having been broken at both the headstock and the body end and the paint being covered in scratches, scraps and even just completely missing in places. Even the pickguard is cracked. The nly explanation I can think of is VGC is an abbreaviation for something other than 'Very Good Condition'. Perhaps there was an admin/copy paste error when listing the guitar?

James.

Hi James,

Thanks for the email. The "as-is" stuff has always been problematic for us. When we rate them like we do the other stuff, it all ends up in poor condition and languishes. What we have done is rate it like all the repairs were done. That's why we say "except for..." and list the needed repairs. Rating is subjective and that is why we disclose as much as possible in the written description itself and include detailed photos.

Thanks,
Tony

That's from (or at least from the account of) Anthony Marsala who says he is the General Manager at Elderly.

What kind of nonsense is this? What's the point of providing a rating on a guitar's condition, if the rating is based on a possible future condition, as opposed to the actual, current condition?

I should start giving reports like this about the patients to the doctors at work...

"His red blood cell count, hemoglobin, and hematocrit are within normal range, but we're going to have to give him a transfusion because he's completely bled out"

or

"His heart is functioning perfectly and we're going to have to call the code team because it's not beating anymore"

I've edited the above post to include my email.

Rating the guitar on possible future condition is bullshit. It's like calling a fat bird skinny (but she will need to diet to get there) or me saying I need a shit, when in fact sometime before I sleep it's likely to happen.
