If you're on my myspace, you've already seen this stuff. But, I figure might as well put this up here.
Photo still life.
Pencil sketch.
Photo, still life.
Photo. still one of my favorite shots I've ever done. Obviously some digital editing done here.
Photo.
Photo.
Photo.
Photo with digital editing.
Photo with digital editing. I really like this one.
This is a painting. Shitty fucking camera phone pic, I have yet to get a decent camera to shoot my paintings. Amy got the good digital cam and my lil sis broke my beloved SLR.
And yeah, I know I suck. I just got back into painting after nearly 10 years.
I have a bunch more recent paintings but no decent pics yet of them. I'm working on that, will post those when I manage to get some decent shots of them.
EDIT: Found a few more on my harddrive I wanted to put up.
Obviously, digital work. I still like it.
LOVE this one. Photo,
Okay, shitty painting and shitty cam photo. This is actually one of the last paintings I did in high school before I quit painting, and I never finished it. I've decided to do more with it soon.
Painting, shitty phonecam. Second painting I did after my "restart" this past year.
This, old high school painting when I was really into Miro. Only exists now as a digital scan that I added the blue bars to.
This is the painting I did last Sunday that I was talking about. A lot of detail is lost from the phonecam pic but here is anyway.
I realize it seems like all I paint is this abstract shit but honestly I paint in other styles too. I'm just a mega-perfectionist when it comes to my more realist stuff and don't like to post that cuz I think it souucks. _________________

That very bottle of Boone's was, in fact, responsible for the conception of my son. _________________

I really like that last painting, it has a simplistic style that's just right. Good job. |

This is my favourite simply because the aspirin and the cyclinder next to it look like the hammer of a 5 year old judge. The idea of a 5 year old getting pissed on whatever is in that bottle whilst holding candlelight trials with cult-like objects around is alluring to say the least. It gets better if you give him the voice of a 40 year old Italian gangster and the vocabulary of a Scotsman, shouting at bemused looking Lego men -

Hahaha. No, that is exactly what you are supposed to do. The idea of that picture is to be alluring and get someone to imagine something when they see it.
Maria (roommates GF) told me last night she loves that black/white/red abstract painting because it looks like barb wire and blood and she says its a powerful image response, reminding her of the violence in prisons and whatnot. Not really what I had on my mind when I did it, but that's why you do it. _________________

I actually did crank out a finished painting on Sunday. Just woke up, had coffee, then cracked a new canvas out and cranked it out. By the time the rest of the house woke up, they all would walk by and doubletake, and beeline for it, look at it, and go, man, don't do anything else to this. It's done.
So, I guess it turned out well. I was pretty happy with it. Of course, none of my pictures show the detail in any of my paintings. I need a decent camera. _________________

Some really cool stuff, Pen. I still owe you a copy of the Casa Bonita CD for using that Polaroid artwork:

Yeah, I couldn't remember if you had sent me one or not. That was during a rather difficult period of my life so you might have sent it and I never remembered.
I would still like a copy if you could post one, it's really cool to have something you did being used in that way. _________________

Holy hell I forgot how much of a pain that Miro stuff was. Painting clean lines like that is a bitch. _________________
