This is my planned recording setup for a recording noobz like me:
Shure SM57 + Line 6 Toneport UX1.
For a dynamic mic, is the interface all i need for basic recording of guitar and drums? Mixers arent required right? |

Yeah that would be fine as long as ur interface will let you set the input level of teh mic... _________________ http://vivadeluxxe.bandcamp.com/ |

That will work fine. The XLR input on the UX1, with the 'Mic Gain' knob will do the trick.
I have the UX1 and have used a few different mics through it. You can use condenser mics as well but you need to get something to send phantom power to the condenser, the UX1 doesn't have phantom power. Something like the Samson S-Phantom. |
