Heey!

My 90's jap jaguar tends to break the high-e pretty often, no matter how the bridge is set (been shimming the neck, blocking the tremolo, using gauge 12 flatwounds etc.)
The mystic thing about these frequent breakages is that the string always breaks from the ball end of the string (so maybe there's a simple cure for this?)

10th string and counting (in 2 months), so before my bank account runs dry I need to ask: how to prevent the e-string from breaking?

...pheeeew, been thinking a while what to make my first post about, and now I've done it! Feeling like a champ! Embarassed

Yup, it seemed pretty rough back there, so i filed all the excess harshness and now the time will tell if this string will keep itself alive.

Funny how the other side of that hole is smooth as hell and the more necessary side is left like that.

Fact: The number of active folk metal musicians is equal to or greater than the population of Finland.
Fact: Every folk metal band ever has been from Finland.

QED.

Dude. You must be well frustrated. I remember way back when all of my town was drenched in petulia oil listening to Metallica, my band at the time did some covers by the Pixies (1988). We did'nt go down too well.

I imagine Velouria would crossover fairly well. Should've waited two years.

Or one year and done Debaser. I don't like peeps who don't like Debaser.

I'm down.

I made a somewhat serious attempt to start a Scandinavian death ska band in high school. We stopped at two members, one trumpet player (me) and one death-skanker (my buddy). Named the project "Ikea Death Ska," Ikea being the only Swedish word we knew at the time. Nothing came of it, sadly.

Also, I'm only half Norse and have never been to Scandinavia. I know of these Finnish bands 'cause I hit up the paganfests and heathenfests and paganknights and all that sort of shit when they roll through town. They're fun. They generate quotes like "this is a song about how fucking cold it is in Finland." Poetry.

Everybody in Finland IS in a band. But not everybody is in a metal band, that's just 95% of people. The rest play humppa and schlager. I playz in a band(s) that go from hc-punk to shoegazy-noisy stuff.
Ever hear of a band called Terveet Kädet? They come from the same town as me. Classic hardcore. A few years back we had a exchange student from Portland OR (if I recall correctly), and one of his reasons to come to Tornio was Terveet Kädet. The punk scene is otherwise pretty dead here, compared to it's heyday in the early 80's. It's always either horrible pop-humourpunk or hc/crust. And nobody buys shortscales. You can't believe the "i hope he's buying that bass, since no-body else will buy it"-look I got when I went to test my Mustang Bass. 940 euros (at the store) luckily I got it cheaper. And Finland sucks if you live here. 'Cos it's cold.

Hienoa Matti että sait vihdoinkin tuon postausneitsyyden menetettyä!

Dont forget that dance artists are (still!) the only "bands" that can earn their living by "making" "music." And I think the percent is something like 99,5%? BTW, Killer avatar!

and yup, its pretty freezing out here!
