That's a pretty nice colour for a refin.

For the UK people, I found this '66 Mustang. It's had a refinish and the bridge pickup has been replaced, it's 795. I thought that was a decent price for a '66, by uk standards anyway, I usually see them go for 1000+.

I start to wonder if I live on a diffrent planet than everyone else.
A Bronco for $600 that's been repainted and the electronics replaced is a good deal?
To me that's a $400 guitar, tops.

i'm not sure anyone said it was explicitly a 'good deal,' but with all the original bits and a nice refin is worth $500 to me. fortunately, i am dirty ass poor.

That's quite easy for you to say when you own so many vintage shortscales....you get to be a bit more selective. To someone wanting to get into their first vintage shortscale, $600 is a pretty modest price to pay. It's a pretty color and looks to be in good shape. Also if it's the same as the soul asylum vid then it's got teh grunge points to boot!

Also getting it back to an original Bronco won't be expensive or difficult at all.

I don't think anyone buying that is going to want to get it back to original unless you mean just putting a single coil back in it. You can get an original bronco for around the same price, it wouldn't really be worth the refin.
