Collaged laserprints and household paint
I spent the last 2 weeks working on this and a film. Both were connected to another artist's project in which he used objects donated by the public to create a large scale assemblage in the middle of the gallery. It ended up having a kind of island/plane crash site look about it which I decided to run with and a few prints and paintings were donated that I used as a starting point. All the water is actually close up photographs of blue packaging tape and some of the wooden structure I created by placing bits of wood onto the surface then photographing them and collaging in the resulting image. It's mostly collage but there's some paint (the sky is all paint), which was household emulsion donated to the project. It's gone a bit twee, I was hoping to make it a little more edgy and sinister, so I might continue working on it but right now it's on the gallery wall for a while. This is a crappy photo taken on a phone, I'll upload a better one when I have one. |
