Nope.

Maybe with a single pickup, but I really can't get into "Fender-inspired" Frankenstein monsters. But if you like it, party on!

You know what?
Build your guitar how YOU want, fuck what anyone else thinks.

I actually like the concept of the Kurtz mustang, just the shit you need, none of the shit you don't.

Kinda remends me of Charvels like this (ignore the trem!):

Oh, did anyone else notice the dot markers on the wrong side of the neck?

My guess the original build was based on a right-handed neck and a shitty plank for the body, kinda explains the black painted headstock?

Yeah. I'm guessing it was a paddle headstock or it was a reverse righty neck. That is exactly what I am going for but with a mustang style body. maybe a chrom humbucker cover and chrome knob would look better.

I like the initial design with the metal control plate. The metal plates are nice to use on Fender guitars. Makes it harder to break with your guitar cable in. (vs jacks mounted to plastic.) Easy to access and such.

Oh should be interesting to see how this goes. I really want something like this myself.

I remember reading something that "Mustang" is actually a modified Bronco. But with a G&L bridge. The pickup is a Univox one.

There's more photos of it online from some record store gig they did with Tad.

I'm not keen on any of them, however you should do the Kurt replica and not any of the others... thats what you wanted to do don't let the opinions of others sway you... you could add a pickguard later if you change your mind... live the dream my friend live the dream.
