If the craigslist one was under 100 bucks, including shipping, I would probably take it, toss a neck on it and ride off slowly into the sunset with it.

So I am finally putting this on the front burner. I sprayed sealer on it and am going to use some of my black grain filler tomorrow. I am thinking a blonde finish or stain.

Red looks cool but my guard is mint and I don't often bond to red. I have better luck with brown, white, or black. |

The back before I put on the white pickling stain. I want to try a second coat tomorrow. I would like more white.

That is definitely a mutt, but that's what makes it cool. Personally I would go for the black pickguard. Always wanted a double cutaway, and that's on my list for projects. |

There are a few designs that I like (like Gibson ones) but I prefer bolt ons. I am gradually building custom guitars that have the shape I want, but with a bolt on neck or other modifications to fit my personal preferences. Kind of fun to have something that is designed with the stuff you want from the get go. |

Interesting ideas here. Sort of therapeutic to see Gibsons with functional Fender features. What people often end up doing on Gibson basses when the weird bridges collapse. |

Got the neck for the Mutt and worked on the headstock decal. Since the body was built by andrewdoeshair I decided to use some of his branding style for it. He is a hairdresser and has his own line of wet and dry styling product so I made a decal with his logo and his trademark head water mark. I also renamed it to Mongrel because Mutt was too short and didn't look right as a decal. Should be cool!

I was able to cut the "Offset" part off of the top of the head... Wasn't thinking about it until I had stuff printed. Yeah it isn't an offset body... |

Almost finished! I got it wired. I am just missing my jack cup and pickup mounting screws. Tuners installed ok. The face of the headstock got a couple small cracks when I put the bushings in. Never seen that before. I used a plastic card to press some superglue in to the little cracks. Hopefully that will be good enough. They didn't go through the back. They seem to be just on the surface. I did the four way series wiring with the four way tele switch. Got the Mastery bridge and tremolo on. With the mastery cups, it is super snug. Anxious for the bridge cup and pickup screws to show up...

So the headstock cracks were bugging me and the Klusons didn't line up well on the back (guess that is likely due to it being a Squier neck) so they weren't laying down totally flat. Rather than just be annoyed by that, I took a neck from another guitar that I haven't played in forever. (I can always get a different neck for that one later.)
I decided to copy old Aen and what he has on his ADH guitar. Handy dandy electrical tape!
