Fender just added an article about them on their website and posted a picture of the swinger on their social network pages. The same thing happened before they rereleased the starcaster. Is this a hint at a reissue? Personally I believe it would be nice if they did a reissue of the Swinger but kept it the same as the original and give it a low price tag for an entry level shortscale guitar for kids. The custom would be more of a novelty. An electric xii would be better. What do you guys think?

i thought the custom in that article is called the maverick?

yeah, i think both guitars are cool and a reissue would be nice. i'd probably buy a swinger if it's the right price.

definitely fender xii is the one everyone's waiting for now the starcaster and coronados have been reissued

I'm really pondering building an xii or waiting. I did that math and it would be around $1,500 or so to build one the way I want but if they do reissue them they will probably be around $800....

They had an article on the 12-strings too, both the solid and the Coronado were in it.

It wouldn't cost that much if you don't worry about a vintage correct bridge or pickups.

I'd use a gotoh 12 string bridge with a custom plate surround made by the guy who took over rhoneys plates and i would have to go with the split pickups. Cross for the neck. Cooterfinger for the body. Rhoney for the paint. Might do it to match my starcaster.

They've put the XII bridge on 12-string Strats and Venus XIIs in the past so I'm sure they could rustle them up for a XII reissue.

I don't think I'd buy a Swinger or Custom/Maverick re-issue personally but I'm all in favour of Fender re-issuing their back catalogue so hope they do it.

They had better re-release the Cyclone or the Maverick...

If they reissue the swinger, I hope it's 24" scale.

I would love to get a Custom/Mustang. I still need to come up with a Starcaster reissue.
