I’ve been working on a ’59 and a ‘62 Duo Sonic build and I thought I’d show the necks I refinished for them. I’m pretty much just waiting for decent weather to paint the bodies and they’ll be finished. These necks looked pretty rough when I got them but I think they both turned out really nice.

Awesome colors. Stoked to see you do the burst. Will you be doing it yourself? _________________ Congratulations! Your Punkacc9 evolved into Awstin. |

Those sunbursts are pretty obnoxious anyway. It won't show if you mess up much anyway lol. Obnoxious in a good way by the way. _________________ Congratulations! Your Punkacc9 evolved into Awstin. |

Excellent restoration work, I love how they still look old, just in a lot better condition. |

Thanks. That's really what I was trying for. I'm using vintage parts to build these and I'm trying to match the age and wear to the hardware I have for each one. The maroonburst will be painted over Desert Tan and relic'ed slightly to match the hardware and neck. I read that Fender had a bunch of Desert Tan bodies they covered with Maroonburst in '62. I found some excellent photos of a Maroonburst over Desert Tan that I'll use for reference. It had some really cool wear areas that show the tan underneath. _________________ Smells like Rock n' Roll |

Just need to wetsand and buff the body then put it together. I hate wetsanding so I've been putting it off. _________________ Smells like Rock n' Roll |

It does suck. What color? And did you find all vintage parts? _________________ Congratulations! Your Punkacc9 evolved into Awstin. |

The Mustang is Daphne with all vintage hardware except tuners and electronics. It'll have a set of vintage wound Bullock pickups.
Since you reminded me about the body I went ahead and wetsanded it today. Now it just needs buffing out.
Thanks for the kick in the ass.

Brilliant work. That wood has new life to it. The first one had some odd, foreign colors happening and the second one looked like a tool from the tobacco or pork industry. You can't even find the chips now. _________________ Yell Like Hell |
