Avon Rose-Morris Gibson Marauder copy, most likely from the 1970s.
I have a bit of a thing for '70s guitars it seems.
Well it was cheap and feels good, looks cool too.
More pics/gut shots
Neck has scarf joint and a volute.
Headstock edges are a little odd; cut at 90 degrees to the fretboard as opposed to 90 degrees to the headstock face.
Pickups are unusual, they look very much like the actual Gibson pickups.
250k Cosmos branded pots, linear for volume, audio for tone
The cavities
I need to give a little attention to the mounting tabs on the pickups as a few are cracked or have a threaded insert that is loose.
I'll scare the paint with a little polish and if I'm feeling energetic level and dress the frets.
I'll post an update when I'm done. |

Haha, I had one of those, and my old friend from down south just picked one up too.
Still desperate to play a real one to see how it sizes up, enjoy it, they're fun little monsters. _________________ musics |

That's how Gibson used to do banjo and mandolin headstocks back in the early days. It's weird that it was done to your guitar. It's kind of an awkward feature to cut.

Not that hard with the router technology in the '70s, loads more difficult when stuff was all done by hand.
Unusual though. |

I had a Cimar version of this, it looked pretty much identical. Weighed as much as the moon though. |

I love the way they look. I'd imagine these and the actual Gibsons would be shite though. _________________
