I wonder what the switching does. It's different than normal jag switching.

well if you zoom in, the switching says "RHYTHM <-> SOLO" and "TREBLE/BASS <-> NORMAL" which im guessing is just the same as a regular jag

the rhythm/solo switch is either the bass cut like a jag or its a treble cut like the rhythm circuit, and the other two are bridge and neck pickup selectors

I did some research and these guitars are supposed to be really good actually. They're apparently really expensive in japan.

Shit, for the money they want for that you can get a real Jaguar... Laughing

"buy it now $650 + $115 shipping " Rolling Eyes

I read up on Elk guitars and I guess they were a high quality guitar and very rare but still not worth the money in my opinion.

Yeah, that is cool and not a bad price for a vintage 1965 guitar.

My thoughts exactly. Not that a VM is a bad guitar, it's good enough that I own one, but it's not "cool" in the way that many guitars from the 60s are. If I liked the way this thing played---although that's not likely, because look how worn down those frets are---I would take it over any reissue.

For what it's worth, I know the seller from Electrical Audio, and I have bought an old Teisco bass from him - (a) he's a stand up guy and (b) he really, genuinely knows his guitars. I think he plays a 59 Jazzmaster and a 60s Mory Jazzmaster copy. I have nothing to gain by saying this, just sayin.
