No binding, also 9.5 radios with medium jumbo frets and the truss rod adjuster on the headstock. I want binding, 7.25 vintage radius and Vintage frets and the adjuster at the heel.
Oh and I want to build it. That's the fun part. |
^ Agreed on the building = fun part and I totallyyyyyy understand the binding! |

May be right material, but I think the pieces are small (e.g. the size of the acoustic guitar trims they are intended for).

I wouldn't use this one - bottom of page says "We do not recommend using fiber veneer for binding, as it doesn’t sand well." Ditto for blocks that need to be shaped to the fretboard radius. |

Why not use Ebony for the blocks? Acouple of headstock plates would be enough |

I was gonna say ebony would be a bitch to sand, but sitting in maple it would probably all be quite similar. |

the idea is that this is a late 60's altered and abused Jazzy. I think I'm going to experiment with the ABS stuff at Stewmac, it's the same material as the binding so it should look the same.
kinda like this as a hardtail with a black pickguard
I might even goes as far as routing the tremolo routing and then filling it in just so it looks "right"
meanwhile my son wants this:
