The D string on my LP studio has sunk so low that the string is touching the first fret. The nut slot for the string looks a bit more grooved than the rest. Is there a way to remedy this problem or do I need to buy a new nut? _________________

Google the superglue and baking soda trick then re-file it. If you have a few quid just have a new nut installed. It's one of the best things you can do for a Gibson since the stock ones are generally awful. |

New nuts are pretty cheap, though, even a decent one. _________________
