Got this body as an impulse buy. I kind of want it as a sibling for my Black Moon Jazzmaster. This one will have humbuckers eventually. Since it is a Warmoth body, I had to modify it to take a Fender pickguard. (The neck and bridge pickups are a tad bit too high towards the neck. I used the router and shaved off the little bit needed. I also used a chisel to square the corners of the tremolo route.

Then I used some IKEA whitewash stain on it. Once it is dry, I will lightly sand it. I might do another coat depending on how it looks.

Dig the blondiez. Why the squred-up trem cavity, is that just more Fendery? _________________

Sometimes the tremolo can get caught or stick in the corners if it is rounded. Sometimes no biggie. |

So I would not recommend anyone use that IKEA paint. I have been waiting two days for it to dry and it hasn't so now I am sanding it off. It is like rubber cement and comes off in gooey pieces. Looks like I will have to try another route. |

I actually was really digging all the white/cream going on. Just my opinion tho, the black guard looks good too. |

I am torn because those parts are for the MJT project. I could do a similar color scheme, but I was thinking himbuckers or WRHB so the two white Jazzys are different. |

the black will be cool as hell with those silver WRHBs. Keep it that way. |

So new plan. I am going to cut the legs off of a set of Greco humbuckers and put them under Jazzy pickup covers. I will put foam on the left and right to help keep the pickup centered under the cover and I will put foam under the pickup so I can adjust the height just like a normal Jazzy pickup. As for pickguard, I am not sure what I want to go with just yet. Only thing I am worried about is how to best cut the legs off of the pickup without damaging anything. |

Pickups came in today. The dremel tool worked great! Only issue I had was when I picked up the leg to throw it away, it was super hot (now I know) and burned the end of my middle finger.

But they look great now.

I put them inside Jazzy covers to see how they fit. Should just need some foam on the left and right to keep it centered.

I sat them in the covers and put them in the body to see how they sat.... Too high.

So I took my router to the cavities and now they sit just about perfect. I will put some thin foam under them like Jazzies usually have. My only worry is if the mounting screws will be long enough. I guess I can always try to find longer ones if it turns out that way.
