Any thoughts on this? My previous HB TE80 (Prince Tele) was good, but it had some finishing issues, and shipping took close to 3 months. But the post office and customs did fuck that up by opening the guitar up, and then sending it to PR on a boat instead of a plane. Meaning it might not have all been their fault.
Anyway, a Rickish 12 string semi hollow for $260 shipped is tempting me.

Honestly 12 strings are usually as good as their necks are playable and their bridges are intonateable. Most of the magic 12 string tone is just in the strings.
That one will probably get the job done. For about the same price you could also have a slightly used and guilt free danelectro 12 string from the classifieds |

You might have problems with rosewood fingerboards these days if you ship internationally (unless within the EU). |

My Harley Benton Tele is pretty perfect. Can't fault anything on it.
I think their nicer guitars are really well made, so this is probably a good'un too.
If only it wasn't rickish, I'd be thinking of it. _________________

Possible (likely) problems:
- Neck dive
- A bridge that will give awful intonation and cost a ton to get a mod bridge with individual string intonation
- Shit pickups, and because they're minis your mod options will be severely limited
- Trapeze bridge a massive PITA to restring
Also think the F hole and headstock look bloody awful.
I do like that the nut seems nice and wide, but I expect the profile will be too thick and make it feel stifling and unwieldy.
Would recommend anyone looking for a low cost 12 string to get one with a Gotoh bridge and single coils (Fender, Danelectro, mod your own Tele with a replacement neck). All likely available used, Warmoth Tele necks included. |

I'm just going to smash it in with a hammer and hope it works. Tone is all in the fingers anyway. |
