I'm doing a set of primers on basic music theory for one of my GCSE classes and I thought some on here might be interested.

I should be doing this on more aspects of theory and other things they need for their exams. I'll update this thread as that happens.

Oh, there's a typo. D Major has a Csharp. Don't know how I missed it (but I'm glad I did, it meant that I knew some of the kids had understood when they asked why it wasn't Csharp. Had to pretend to be playing silly teacher. It didn't work).

If you wish to add a section on microtones and how they function of be more than happy to include it!

On that, I was delighted when I asked where we might have come across music that used more than twelve notes and someone I didn't expect answered that Indian music used microtones.

Haha, I wish I could. I'm trying to get my head around some Arabic instrumentation to add to new Casa Bonita songs and trying to keep it authentic without just sounding mad out-of-tune against guitars.

This looks legit good, Paul. I'm sure there's a treasure trove of tips in there for even a semi-educated dullard such as myself
