Found this while poking through Guitar Center's used site, and I got curious. I called and the salesman said that the electronics were replaced, and that it has a pretty rough swimming pool route. Since the price was low enough, I decided to take a risk.
Should arrive next week - let's see if it's a keeper or not.

I go up to Orlando often enough that we can do an Epcot swap out. _________________ 10 PRINT "Bite Me!"

That looks like a DiMarzio SDS-1 in the neck position. _________________

That's what I thought. Or a G&L pickup. _________________ 10 PRINT "Bite Me!"

Look who's here!
The routing
[img]https://i.imgur.com/KMw4BVw.jpg
[/img]
And the pickguard/pickups(pardon the weird crop and angle - My leg appears in it because it was on my lap, and there's a pretty nasty bug bite on it.. so I cropped it out)
Impressions - it's comfortable, but quite heavy - heavier than my Vista Jagmaster and much MUCH heavier than my SG. The neck is slim-ish, identical to my old 78 Musicmaster. I forgot how much I like 7.25" radius necks. I also like that it came with an old hardcase.
I'm unsure what the pickups are, and switch is a 5 way switch, with positions 1-2 going to bridge, position 3 bridge + neck, position 4 neck, and position 5 kill switch - but with no grounding (as well as no shielding), so it hums like crazy.
Beyond that, I'm not really a fan of the pickups. They don't sound good separately, nor do they sound good together.
So if I keep it, at minimum it needs shielding and new electronics. Might go GFS to remain budget friendly. For now, I'm going to sand the interior and hit it up some shielding paint, and put some shielding tape inside the pickguard. _________________ 10 PRINT "Bite Me!"

Finally back home after almost a week out of the US waiting out Hurricane Dorian and a weekend in Orlando, because wife and I are Harry Potter geeks and I am also a major Simpsons geek.
This morning, I started on the project. Took the guitar apart to inspect better - I had already decided on all new electronics across the board, but after opening it up, it confirms it. Whoever modified this originally did it poorly. Also, not relevant, but interesting, I dated the pots to 1997, so I guess that the work was done in the late 90s/early 00s.
I've already started work on shielding the cavity and the pickguard, but for today that's pretty much all that'll get done, since it's a workday and I'm also not feeling 100% (I blame the theme park food).
In the meantime, most of the parts I need/want already arrived, (pickups, pots, switches, black pickup covers), but I am missing a few tools (soldering iron for one), so until those arrive, the guitar will just be hanging out in its case. _________________ 10 PRINT "Bite Me!"

All completed, strung up, and has a trem arm now (Allparts BP-0274-005 and some anti-seize, just if anyone needs a trem arm that'll work with a Bronco).
