Was planned for delivery on monday...but it arrived today....

It's going to need some work leftyfying ( err ??) but i've been playing some upside down.
Love how it doesn't feel like a bass but also not like a guitar, it can sound like a guitar and it can sound like a bass... same with the strings, it's an interesting instrument.
Happy squier is putting out stuff like this, same feeling as with the cv JM, a lot of guitar for the money, solid.

Will get to it proper tomorrow taking it apart to clean up the sawdust and plastic. Checking out the stock strings before i swap and flip them.

That neck looks lovely.

The Squier Bass VIs make me wish I'd hung on for a bit before buying my Gretsch baritone since they came out about a year later and originally cost less new than I'd paid for the Gretsch as a B-stock, and the Squiers look absolutely lovely, while the Gretsch is painfully obviously a product of corner-cutting.

Top score, though.

Considering the body is plywood and the neck is clearly two pieces of wood glued at the 3rd fret, the bigsby is about the only thing that comes close to justifying the silly price! Laughing

Congrats, they're great instruments.

Have you bought some replacements yet? When I got mine the only ones easily available this side of the Atlantic were La Bellas, which weren't cheap. Now looks like Fender do a heavier gauge set and I also came across (might have been someone on here tbh...) a company in the UK called Newtone who do a .024-.100 set for £16 (+VAT). They also seem to offer custom sets (I'm going to e-mail them about getting a lighter set for B-B/A-A tuning).

I’ve been using Newtone strings for a few years, I really like them.

Good to know Nick. Looks like they’re not too far from either of us (Derbyshire).
