The middle setting does indeed sound out of phase. BTW the last double cut LP I had was “vintage spec” right down to the two pickups being out of phase. I have one on my Japanese CAR Jag. It stays put and feels perfect. A worthy upgrade that saves a lot of fannying about.

Just to make it more confusing it does different things in different synths, velocity curves, note priority, easier to use sequencer etc etc.
