First off make sure that the body of the guitar is secure and can't budge. If I were to rout this freehand I would make several passes. Each getting successively deeper. Finally, leave about an 1/8 of an in inch, or so, between the final line. bore out the center of the pickup hole first. When you g...

GFS sells a similar looking guitar, but yours looks far nicer. I really like yours and I am usually put off by gold hardware.

The way I see it is it mostly breaks down to muscle memory. True from sports to musical instruments. Muscle memory means repetition. This can become boring so maybe the key is to have a mix of the repetitive drills and learning new riffs and chord songs. If I went straight into only chord songs (str...

No my bother did not paint it, the artist was Steve Keene. Kind of funny, he got the 56 U2 first generation RI as a present from his wife almost the exact time I got my 56 U2 pro. We did not know that we each had almost the same guitar. Mine has the black neck and better tuners and higher out put pi...

Yea, I wrote that at work and did not have the guitar on me. But thanks. I was able to scavenge some bushing from one of my projects. They were 1/4" od bushings. I put on an intonating bridge, new set of 10's and did a quick setup. Could not believe it, but the bridge was already set to proper ...

Danelectro 56-u2 RI help

My brother just brought me his Danelectro U2 56 RI to install the intonating bridge and give it a set up. Well the strings were off of the guitar and I noticed he was missing three of the tuner bushings. He is in the process of moving, so the probability of actually finding them are very low. Does a...

Football 1, fret hand 0.

Well, after 6 weeks of hoping it would just get better on it's own, I went to the hand doc and he said I have a torn ligament on my fret hand pinky. It has to stay taped to the other finger for 4 weeks. If it doesn't get better then MRI. So anyway I was hoping someone could suggest pick hand practic...

I would to the toothpick and glue thing, but do not drill for a small pick guard screw. Just screw it right into the patched hole. Toothpicks are soft.

You can do this with a hand drill. Here are a couple of tips. Clamp down the plate once the drill bit bites it it will spin like an airplane prop and you could get hurt a little bit. At a minimun wear a glove to hold the plate. Use a wood block to put the plate on - you will drill through the plate ...
