Wow great deal. I saw a U2 RI at GC for 150 the other day, but I already have one. If you just totally hate the bridge, you can get an intonating one here: http://www.danguitars.com/Parts.html My brother was freaked out by his old school rosewood saddle, so I got him one for xmas and it was a qualit...

Very nice job. I am a big fan of making sawdust.

So what is the best way to cut pick guard plastic. I would think with a router and a template, at least for the bevel. But I have cut plastics before and it often melts and globs up. Any tips for machining the stuff from anyone with experience?

Clearly not, I dunno what you're eating but I'm pretty sure that Leo Fender and his crew weren't pioneers of Synesthasia and Hippie Pseudo Wank. We know the Jazzmaster came first, and that the Jaguar was the next stage on. To me it seems smaller, faster (shortscale) and more brash than the Jazzmast...

DSB this was a fun project. I like building an working on things, so I had fun working on it. I did like you did and looked at the reviews of Rondo's stuff on harmony central, so i figured it was not too much of a risk-sight unseen. I also had dealt with GFS before, having purchased the high output ...

The tremolo mod was the biggest improvement. It sat a little proud. http://bestnetworx.com/uploader/files/141/P4170024.JPG This was the Tremolo made for the Chinese/ overseas made guitars and the holes lined up as good as could be expected. I was happy with that. http://bestnetworx.com/uploader/file...

Ya thinK? I am not good at imagining what the color combo's would look like. I usually need an example. One problem is that it is a weird sized pick guard. So it is going to be cream with a white pick guard. Also, the cream pickup covers are slightly off from the knobs. But I do not what to spend mu...

Got some parts from GFS for the 24" strat and put it together. I ordered the tremolo with bent saddles and and big hardened steel block, the wilkinson EZ locking turners, the clearance overwound single coils and an complete electronic kit for strats. I am very happy with the upgrades, I would h...

Maybe you are actually binding at the nut or string tree. After a couple of strums it gives a little and goes slack. Try a dab a vasloline at the nut and tree. Maybe just breaking at the tuner peg because this is where the bend makes the string the most weak.

SX 24" strat vs. full-sized strat, and little baby stra

Here is the SX SST57 short scale strat next to a full sized Fernandes strat and a very small (18.5" neck) Stagg strat.
The SX would be considered a 7/8 size I guess.

Tomorrow I can put it up against my daughters Fernandes strat. and take a pic.

From Rondo's web site SX SST57 Short scale 11.5" at widest point. The SX SST57 25.5" is 13" at widest point.
Not sure if they are the same thickness.

It is smaller in size. Not a problem, but I can not do an easy pickgaurd swap.

I did not realize I double posted, but then I could not figure out how to delete the other one.

That neck looks nice, a little too orange for my tastes but the finish looks very good. Apparently the neck and the finish is really the best parts of their guitars. As expected electronics and tuners are crap. But their prices? great deal regardless. That's the plan. Looking at GFS for new tuners,...

I was hitting the back button on my browser, and it submitted again. You can never go back.

" how does it fit?"

What do you mean? It feels normal to hold and play. Not like it is out of proportion. I am still getting used to the very jumbo frets.

my new SX short scale strat

Here are some pics of my new SX strat (SX SST57 short scale). I got it about 1 week ago. Trying to figure out what pickups I want to put into it. Thinking of lil killer's from GFS. I want this to be a noise making machine. Compared to other guitars. A little smaller body than a regular strat, but no...

It’s a nice guitar. I would agree mostly with reviews on harmony central. Paint job is great, but the neck is finished with a really thick clear lacquer. It looks kind of like that orange 3lb shellac but extra glossy. I can see some people being put off by this. Tuners are holding tune, but are no...
