This was my first proper hardware synth, and I loved it. I only ended up selling it to help fund my Moog Little Phatty, as I mostly underutilized the Micron for Moogy monosynth sounds. Nice community here and many patches available once you join: http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/alesis-ion/info I'...

I was comparing the Alter Ego X4 and the more compact V2 version just the other day. I fired this computer up and had a tab open to the V2 on musiciansfriend.com (where it was $169), and when I fired the browser back up it of course reloaded the page and I couldn't believe it -- $69! http://www.musi...

Still love this guitar and have replaced the magic holding the strap buttons with the aforementioned epoxy.

At least someone managed to use the search, presumably the reason for the crazy bump.

Yeah, a 2x15 is a breeze on the subway or taxi as mentioned in the original post.

Alternatively, you could just get a Sansamp-style D.I. box and run it into the PA. does that really sound ok? obviously that would be the BEST solution if it sounded ok but I am worried that it would sound horrible through some PA's and ok through others... What kind of music is it that you're play...

Just reposted this like a damned idiot.

I've always been intrigued by the Odyssey. I hope it's not too pricey.

Full-size Korg MS-20 kit, new from those bastards...

I love my MS-20 mini, but these guys have outdone themselves again.

I bought the Nano Hot Tubes as soon as it was available. It works great on guitar, bass, and Bass Vi. Find my Bass VI thread if you must.

That's a great question. It would be ideal if a music store proprietor who has access to both a Bass VI and a bunch of hardshell cases could give us all a definitive answer and comparison. I've been using a full-size bass gig bag without issue.

I was about to clutter this subforum with my rambling bullshit, but I'll be a good boy and add it to this post instead. I'll also say I agree with Mages' assessment of Roland and Korg. I may also be biased though, as I began listening to the Heavy Strife album after seeing he was the last post here....

Thanks for posting that. What a dick! I would never buy from that guy. It was a pretty absurd situation, and I was a mere observer that glommed on early. That's a thread I never grow tired of rereading. It's a shame too, as he often has very nice used pieces for sale at reasonable prices under the ...

I'm with Tim; they're guitar-shaped objects (or Shad's differently-shaped Epiphones). Not worth it. And Mike Robinson is a knob who doesn't care about his product or his customers. Avoid. As you're a true gent, I'll be the one to link it. Why I won't be buying from Eastwood/myrareguitars again... A...

I'm really disappointed to tell you the truth. Hoping there is a second email with more to come. Saving the best stuff till last perhap...

My dream setup to drive any instrument I own would be something powerful and still relatively portable -- something like a 2x10 bass cab with neodymium speakers and a compact 2x12 (like Twin Reverb size) with Greenbacks or V30s, and have the Vibrosonic head driving the 2x10 and the Orange AD30 drivi...

Noirie, that doesn't alleviate the main problem the Staytrem bridge solves: intonation. The stock bridge as well as the Mustang and Mastery aren't wide enough in some cases to allow for proper intonation. Based on the countless reports in several corners of the web, some had success by flipping the ...

To be more specific/pedantic, the sans-serif font used for the STRATOCASTER type on Nick's headstock is Univers in what seems to be the 67 Oblique flavor like other decals of that era. Jagsonic's headstock, if truly from the '70s, looks to be using a Clarendon variant for STRATOCASTER with some slig...

Here's a quick live recording from rehearsal last night, featuring the Squier Bass VI in the mid-right of the stereo field. I'm fairly certain I was on neck+middle pickups here -- my favorite. Roots and Ruins - Small Fires I'm using the effects chain from page 1 of this thread , but I swapped the na...

expecting to have to lay out for a staytrem bridge in the new year, and will need some heftier strings i reckon. looking at these, .26-.95: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/La-Bella-Fender-Bass-VI-6-String-Rnd-Wnd-S-less-Steel-26-95-LB7676S-/181251190421 Those are precisely the ones I'm going to go for on...
