Re: NGD - Squier VM Tele Custom project
Good score! I bought a cheapie set of white button tuners like that for my Telecaster, they might not be as smooth as the real Klusons on my Cyclone, but they work well enough and look nice. I'd say on par with the modern Squier tuners.

Re: Ngd: it’s a Strat!
How heavy is the body? Every bullet with a tremolo I've held was heavy as hell, my bullet was heavy as hell and it wasn't the tremolo that weighed a ton, I took it completely apart and it was the body itself. PIt was probably the second heaviest guitar I've owned after a les paul knock off. Every h...

Re: Ngd: it’s a Strat!
Dots: planning any upgrades?
All the upgrades: am I a joke to you?
(1986 MIJ neck w/Fender tuners, Kent Armstrong TVST62 pickups, CTS 250k pots and USA 5-way switch)
The bridge and body are the only non-upgraded parts left on the guitar.

Re: 1964 Mustang custom order Candy Apple Red, no documentation?
I’m no authority on Fender custom stuff but I don’t know that I’ve personally ever run across a custom color on a Mustang.
Also the color used on the Mustangs of the era was Dakota and not Fiesta red

Ngd: it’s a Strat!
This one to be exact: 3139424B-E8FD-498C-93E0-FF1CF7AA3EB2.jpeg I’ve technically had this for a year and a half but it’s been living in Florida- Lauren found this Squier Bullet on marketplace while visiting her parents -they just visited us this weekend and brought it up neck off in a suitcase. It o...

Not so sure. Squier made a “Competition Orange” affinity Tele a few years back, that looks to be the same color more than likely

This 62 at my friend's shop rn: http://www.instagram.com/p/CcqzqKnp1Ar/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Like, $10k is a lot to spend on a guitar and all, but at a certain point it feels like it belongs in a museum - less beautiful less rare things sell for much more and it's kind of bothersome that some...

Nah the stripe is all wrong and the color is off. So close, how is it this hard to mess up?

Re: Building a mini Kurdt pedalboard
Face it though; when we were kids, we wanted exactly what our heroes used because it was super inspiring and fun to use the same tools, not because they necessarily accurately recreated the sounds. Just looked at a 'DS-1 vs DS-2 mode I' comparison and the DS-2 sounds way less harsh, and doesn't hav...

http://www.groundguitar.com/kurt-cobain-gear/kurt-cobains-tech-21-sansamp-classic/ Dirt box for In Utero era songs reportedly. Really nice idea, I might consider a smaller inexpensive tuner and put the TU-2 funds toward a DS-2 upgrade Could also get this for her strat  http://s3.us-east-1.wasab...

Re: Advice buying guitar amps
Haven’t tried the vibrolux, if I didn’t already have the DRRI I’d want to try both if I could. I ended up buying a 65 Pro Reverb last year but I imagine a vibrolux would probably be a good middle ground between the two. I think the only problem I’ve had with mine was with the reverb tank which IIRC ...

Re: Advice buying guitar amps
I have a 68 Custom DRRI and highly recommend it - it's "just right" on so many levels, weight, size, tone, volume, breakup point....YMMV depending on what you need an amp to do, but if I could only keep one of my amps from a utilitarian standpoint, it would be the one. I will say that I wa...

Re: Mango Musicmaster Build
Nice! I've often passed up some of the prettier rustoleum colors because they're usually only available available in satin, although I know the plastic cap doesn't always do a great job of demonstrating the sheen. Looking at the photos on my computer vs the phone I can see the satin better, it looks...

Re: Mango Musicmaster Build
The finish looks great in pics- for that rustoleum did the satin polish to gloss or did you need to use clear? Or is it more satin in person than the pics let on?
