Re: Any verdicts on the squire sonic mustangs?

I strongly considered messaging plops about the bridge plate, I prefer it aesthetically, I just can’t bring myself to go back to 3 saddles when 6 saddle options anre available (did the same with my thinline Tele build) And I also like the yellow painted bridge on that Mustang bass, it’s so hilarious...

Re: Any verdicts on the squire sonic mustangs?

God damn, I actually love the black-on-yellow colour scheme. This is my first time seeing it! If they made a shortscale bass in this scheme (Mustang, Bronco, whatever, I'm not fussy) then I'm afraid I would immediately be £200 poorer. To be honest it wasn’t my original plan but the black is really ...

Re: Any verdicts on the squire sonic mustangs?

This was waiting for me after work, 4 days late with a big hole in the box. It’s nice tho and didn’t have any issues. Initial impressions are great! Neck feels nice, smooth skunk stripe, pale olive ass laurel fretboard. Comfortable profile with satin finish. No sharp fret edges. Paint is smooth, the...

Re: Any verdicts on the squire sonic mustangs?

I caved and just snagged a yellow one from Guitar Center for $160 http://andertons-productimages.imgix.net/0373651574-FSR-Squier-Sonic-Mustang-Electric-Guitar-in-Graffiti-Yellow-Hero.png Plan to use it as a learning project, finishing the neck properly and routing it for Mustang switches (hopefully ...

Haven’t done a group pic in a while. Missing a few but these are the main players these days.

Re: Guild Polara - anyone played one?

The yellow with the one ply pickguard has this melted plastic guitar-Christmas-ornament quality to it that I love.

Re: AI Mastering

Interesting. I did end up trying Landr’s reference track feature which did seem to work nicely, but in a way felt like playing a game of Monster Rancher with my MP3’s.

We just pressed the button to distribute last night and it’s pending review, will post them in the art shack soon.

Hell yeah!

Black vibrato arm cap isn’t necessary tho, originals were always white. Throwing me off a lil.

^ different guitar, different factory.

The Syncromatics were made in the early 00’s in Korea, probably by Samick.

Re: AI Mastering

I appreciate it Freddy - right now we're just releasing a two song single (we tracked 10 songs for an album but decided to release these separate) - so I might end up going that route for the subsequent 8 song album/ep. In our last band session we signed up for Landr since we're planning to use it f...

Re: Old Gretsch Synchromatic Junior Jet

It's probably gonna feel similar to a bolt on Epiphone. The pickup might be cool, or at least be able to be easily upgraded. Looks neater/more unique than an epi. But if you don't think you're gonna play it cause you have better guitars it might be better to let someone else have at it who might nee...

Re: Old Gretsch Synchromatic Junior Jet

One time I bought one at Guitar Center used for $250….it was the fancier red sparkle bigsby model with 2 pickups…might have been a thinline IIRC. I had some instant buyers remorse, especially since one of the tuner keys snapped off on the drive home, so I returned it. But it seemed a decent enough g...

AI Mastering

Is using AI mastering like Landr for songs I recorded and mixed myself the equivalent of crossing a picket line, or are there other reasons I shouldn’t? Is it like getting a hair cut at the mall and maybe you think it’s good but the first actual hairstylist who sees it is going to “know” and ask whe...

Ahh thought that might be it. I see the grain and different logo on the headstock now, the color looks the same as prison stang orange.
