My current #1/Most used is my Strat that I recently picked up, only because It's my only fully working single coil right now, and I'm too lazy to haul out the supersonic from the depths of my room.

I think my SuperSonic is what got me into heavier strings, I found my normal ones to flimsy on the short scale, and when I got a long scale, I just bought the ones I had been using for shortscale, and set it up accordingly. Definitely agree with the wound 3rd, makes a world of difference IMO. I can ...

I've got a couple recordings on a few Shortscale comps. The 90s one and the Birth Year one. I think they were back when I was using 12/13s Its definitely a lot louder than anything I've played with 9's or 10's Also alot more bass-heavy. I'd say the tone is more well-balanced, because usually I find ...

heh, Its not so much a fight really, I just always found lighter strings too rubbery for my tastes. I guess I just always wanted that, new guitar player weak fingers string pain, thing. If that makes any sense. Besides, 14's stay in tune a lot better for me, and it almost give the guitar an acoustic...

Dont have a video camera/mic, but I can usually get between a half step and a whole step on a High E bend, MAYYYYYYYBEEEEE a wee bit more if I really try. I just prefer the strings to not feel like rubber bands. The strings in the gauge itself aren't too extreme. It's 60, 46,36,26,18,14/15 Would pro...

14s/15s for the win.

In Standard tuning.
Usually try to get a 15 for sub-25.5" scale, but I use whatever I can find.

Can I has manlandz?

Yeah, you're prob better off replacing the tuners. It looks to me those tuners were either from a Squier Jazz V Affinity, or a Bronco bass. In either case, IIRC, Squier Affinity P Bass tuners would be a direct swap, so you might wanna try that route for something cheap and a quick fix. Plus it looks...

I just remembered something. George, when you do the 'vaughan' mod, I found that if you select, the neck and middle pickups, and roll the neck tone down, you get a cocked wah tone, the "Money for Nothing" tone when used with distortion. This may have just been my guitar's shitty caps thoug...

The thing I like about the tone mod I did is that, I'm in the same boat as you. I don't really use the tone knobs, but I always found strat bridge pickups to be ice picky. By having just the bridge tone, I could leave it rolled off and have a great balanced sounding geetar.

I actually did my mod a bit differently then the link George posted. I moved the wire from the last pot up to the open lug on the selector. That way I have tone on the neck, the middle wide open, and tone on the bridge. Very usable tones in all positions IMO http://www.guitar-mod.com/wiring/jim_vaug...

Less Paulo - Bridge for lead, middle for rhythm.
Seventies-Sonic - Bridge for twanggggg
Tele/Bullet - Neck
Strat- all positions usable with bridge tone mod.

Cheers all

I love this strat, it just feels sooo damn good to play. I think I've been longing for teh singel coilz tones for too long,
and now it feels a hell of a lot better to have a versatile strat in the arsenal now.

Yep, its a 09 Chinese bullet.

The B in the COB denotes the factory it was made in.
The 2008 and later bullets have been getting rave reviews.

IMO its a hell of a lot of guitar for the money, and for 70 quid, you can't go wrong.

New Geetar Day

Alright, well I've had the bullet for about a week or 2 now, but I haven't gotten around to getting pics until now. Anyways, superb sounding and feeling guitar for about 100 bucks. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a single coil/beater geetar. http://bestnetworx.com/uploader/files/215/10...

I'd still go with a Squier Bullet strat for single coils, its a hell of a lot of guitar for the money.

I'm completely pleased with my sunburst one.

Lovely grain on that one red. I just got mine in yesterday, but haven't really got to play it much. First impressions are pretty sweet, needs a set of 15-60 on it before I can really make a good review, but all in all, pretty damn good guitar for 100 bucks. No pics yet, my phone doesn't take anythin...
