+1 but only if the pickup covers are also mint. If you have white or cream covers, a mint guard is going to look awful.
I don't think they look awful, but I agree white or mint covers would look better. I've seen white jag covers but never mint.

EDIT: oh and I'm teetering around the edges of getting a surf green one and I'd definitley do the mint guard - totally inspired by yours.
Thanks!

This seems redundant in light of the new Squier Jags, but here's the super duper modified version of this project: http://i1054.photobucket.com/albums/s487/djangosentenza/webIMG_4068.jpg http://i1054.photobucket.com/albums/s487/djangosentenza/web2IMG_4065.jpg http://i1054.photobucket.com/albums/s487...

worst guitar i've ever seen. fuck that strat jack Fuck you in the fucking face!!!! :x Just kidding. I'm halfway considering doing a refin and filling up the strat jack with wood filler. I wish it weren't there either, but I bought the body for $100, and I had everything else, so instant Jaguar and ...

putting the jaguar trem baseplate on there looks much better . . . but it looks like it could be moved forward 1/4 inch. Without the plate though, it looks WAY to far back. Looks really nice, though. Did you just use a standard jag pickguard? Yeah, there was a lot of empty space without the trem pl...

Re: Squier Jaguar conversion

From http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c22/umafloresta/Surf/IMG_2554.jpg What guitar is to the left of the Jaguar? Looks like an old Airline or Eastwood guitar. Really nice job. I like that the standard Jag routing is underneath. Massive improvement over the stock configuration. The red one is from...

MORE PICS AND INFO OF THIS FELLA IN THE BACKGROUND TOO! http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c22/umafloresta/Surf/IMG_2549.jpg That's an SX Jag bass with a Dano baritone (30") neck on it. It's very rough, doesn't look great close up, but it plays and sounds great. Cheap strat pickups on there and...

i LOEV the more chrome option.. however still not down with the strat jack.. even though it now looks like a turret tower or something.. but for the price on these plus your mods, still probably not bad at all.. any gut shots of your wiring? how the body is routed? These guitars come pre-routed for...

put a capo on your guitar. it shortens the scale. does the tone change? Part of it will be the difference between the nut material and the fret material which becomes like a zero fret with a capo. But to really get it, take a full scale Fender, tune down to D, then capo the second fret. A/B that wi...

Those Filtertrons sure cleaned up the sound, it's kind of silvery or glassy compared to the P90s. Much more Fender sounding (if that makes sense for a Gretsch pickup) (no wait, Fender own Gretsch). Any good sources for Filtertrons? I want to put some in my Sheraton. Yeah, the P90s sounded a little ...

those filtertrons must have cost more than the whole guitar. No, just half as much as the whole guitar. If I'd bought TV Jones, they'd have cost more than the whole guitar. Clips below. The first three are with the Filtertron pickups. There's a couple of clips of the stock guitar below them a...
