Squier Bullet Mustang Neck

Does anyone know if it is a conversion neck? I have a spare Squier Strat neck and a couple of those fake wide range humbuckers from GFS laying around and thought it'd be a cool project. Anyone know if it's like the old Chinese Jagmaster and I can just throw a Strat neck on it?

holy shit, I think that foto flame Jag is the first Jag I ever owned! The old bridge post with the foto flame is a dead give away! It has really made the rounds. You're like the 3rd person here who has claimed past ownership, and I got it from a dude here. That's awesome. I bought that guitar like ...

I got my first telecaster because of Joe Strummer. Every one since has been because I loved that Tele, so guess they're his fault too. Definitely put strat singles in the neck positions of multiple telecasters because of Marty Stuart. http://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/a9/0d/0f/a90d0ff5b1ecac...

Who cares if it was labeled Fender or Squier. When you buy these guitars second hand, unless you've taken it apart to look, you always risk the guitar being a parts guitar. If it plays well, sounds good to you, and feels good to you, then you got your money's worth.

I'll do it if you cover shipping and parts.

I don't know what it would cost to ship, but if you're interested PM and we can work out details.

Yes, the clear coat generally goes over the binding. Otherwise you'd feel where the finish starts and stops. I guess the only disadvantage of that would be refretting; you'd probably have to strip that part, or the whole finish.

Yes, the skunk stripe is because it's a one piece maple neck, so they have to route the back for the truss rod. And the "fake" truss rod adjustment is just from them drilling into the neck for the truss rod there. That neck looks like it's been refinished. The 70s necks have super thick po...

I bet they would with a little filing or, my guess, is that the screw hole pattern is different.

That and the pick guard are the obvious two. The control layout on a TB is very generic, so it doesn't really stand out. The recessed switch and the different round overs are the two details that are a little less obvious.

What Paul said. Instead of pickup rings, the screws will be in the back of the guitar. When I was thinking of this guitar, I basically wanted a solid body Starcaster with as many TB features as possible and the lack of pickup rings is one detail that I thought would add a lot to the build.

It really is. Cooter always has top notch bodies but he went an extra step with the headstock. I'm quite pleased.

Cooter finished up the body and reshaped the headstock. The front of the headstock will be painted and the back has an added maple veneer so there won't be any mismatched maple. http://i858.photobucket.com/albums/ab147/portugalwillie/scheadstock010_zpsee3289ab.jpg http://i858.photobucket.com/albums/...

Re: Travis Bean/Starcaster build

I love this. I think it'd be better with just one volume and one tone control though. Also would be ace painted in pearlescent white like this: http://www.promenademusic.co.uk/image/cache/data/wilsonbros-ventures-white-3-875x875.jpg I actually thought about that but design wise, I figured the 4 kno...

That is completely ridiculous. They're not that much different and certainly not enough to make one look great and one like trash.

I just picked up one of these from a trade with Cooter and I'm really impressed with the sound and feel of the guitar. It's a great guitar to keep kicking around the living room when I want to noodle and watch TV. It's light and semi-hollow to it's plenty resonant and loud without an amp. I have nev...
