It's a bit less ugly in black, but I still don't like it. But, hey, why not, Annie has indeed an eclectic taste in guitars (I saw her play what I think was a gorgeous vintage Guild M75 to great effect - now that kind of guitar is a lot more up my alley ...)

Very nice.
I like this particular mid-70's Fender vibe (heavy body, thick cream finish, white pickguard, decent rosewood, the headstock - all that nicely aged).

Yeah, it lives up to the sticker that says "A for Awesome".
4-0 for the Tokai it seems !

That partsjazzy is cool ... Since my last post here, I've fallen in love with teles (I play mostly jazz), and here are the two I own (sorry for the lousy phone pics): http://lh6.googleusercontent.com/--DnP916V5y4/UlHVUsS6dTI/AAAAAAAACDQ/M6kfNXbtuuE/s512/awesome.JPG http://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-...

Quite the opposite actually, I play mostly jazz and something evenly medium/heavy like 13-53 on 24.75 or 12-50 on 25.5 (flatwound) gives me a better chord definition, feel etc. I do like a roundwound 11-52 on the Mustang though !

Yes, I think a Les Paul-owned L-5 or D'Angelico will probably go for 4-5 times the estimation here, not to mention the '52 LP ... I'll look forward to see the auction results ...

Thanks !
And yes, though I'd gased over such a 125 for quite a long time, I suspect the Epi will remain my favorite (btw the 125 is probably overvalued right now, and the Epi undervalued - even more so with my own guitars, as the 125 is pretty much a collector while the Epi is definitely a player)

The lefty 335 & Tele above look great ! Here's my new guitar (replaces my flamenca as my 3rd guitar) : a '62 Gibson ES-125 TC. Quite clean, and the tone from the pickup is awesome (think Aurora en Pekin by Marc Ribot ) Ideally, a neck reset would be nice, as the action is pretty high, and playin...

Yeah that jazzmaster is perfect ... Exactly the same color and pretty much the same kind of ageing as my '76 mustang ... There's really something about the vintage white Fenders from that period ...

I'd say an Antonio de Torres, but that's a bit extreme ... more reasonably, any Manuel Reyes or any good Conde Hermanos is pretty much out of reach ...
A Gibson ES-125TC is borderline ...

Niiiiiice !
I've been looking for such a guitar recently (not 3/4 though), but couldn't find one, and the matching Gibson (mostly ES-125 I guess) are quite pricey, so I've found & bought a 1948 Epiphone Blackstone instead ... will post pictures later, but it's hardly a short scale (25 1/2)

I've got a Mustang (vintage, but I'm pretty sure the reissues are almost as good) and a brand new Hagstrom (Ultra swede though) which I'm trying to sell, and there's a whole world of difference ... getting/keeping few "expensive" instruments is way more rewarding than frequently buying/sel...

Currently I'd really like to get a nice vintage Gibson ES-125 (ideally : thinline, no cut-away, 1 pup). That is, if I can find one, try it, and if the neck does not feel too awful for me. Prices for those don't seem too silly.

As far as I remember, something like 400 or 500 euros. They had one new at almost twice that price.
