Re: N(ish)BD - Vintera II Bass VI
It is nicer than the Squiers... is it $1200 nicer? Maybe? The stupid psychology about it being "Fender" has some level of value, but I also had a luthier friend who cautioned me against the Squiers, as from his experience, their necks weren't as stable... but we'll see how it goes. The Squiers I'd ...

N(ish)GD - Player Telecaster Limited Edition
In August, after getting the Bass VI I just posted in Shortscales in March, I took advantage of Long & McQuade Fender Month sale prices and 0% financing and got myself a Telecaster. I've had an Aerodyne Telecaster since about 2007, which I love, but I've been wanting a more classic Tele all along as ...

N(ish)BD - Vintera II Bass VI
I nabbed a couple instruments in 2024 that I never posted about (partly because I lost how to access the uploader, and messing with imagur to get images here is a PITA)... let's change that.
I March, I pulled the trigger on a 20-year dream instrument and finally got myself a Fender VI, with a bit of ...

Live Studio video: Inside - Daley Drive
Hey folks,
A friend/bandmate built a backyard studio last year, and one of my other bands, a simple (Canadian) 90s indie inspired duo, Inside, agreed to be guinea pigs to record a couple demos in September, then during a local annual festival over Thanksgiving, Gobblefest (2024 was its 30th year ...

Re: Birth year guitars, has anyone done this?
I had some thoughts towards attempting birth year guitars... I was born in 1979, and the 25th anniversary Fenders were an option. I've never really had vintage gear money, especially since I only really had an eye towards that market after vintage prices skyrocketed.

Re: Always on pedals, a popular option?
I pretty much always have some level of chorus (like) and reverb on... though mostly amp reverb.
Current chorusing-ish effect is Keely 30ms, it's almost always on, and has built in reverb that's usually set around 8:30-9:00, that also feeds into amp reverb. Dirt and such are application based ...
