Re: So the Jag-Stang existed in 1971
It’s probably for the garbage disposal that got ripped out to make room for a Kahler in the early ‘80s. Or the rotating leopard print waterbed it had as standard.

Re: SHORTSCALEGEARDEMO VOX MV 50
While that’s true in the “intended use” sense, a lot of people do use them to bolster the tone of boring sounding amps. I use an American or British Sound into a Bassman Ten because that amp otherwise has pretty much nothing cool going on, and teh Kurtdz’s dirty tone for the In Utero touring era was...

Re: Wah
To me kicking on wah-wah is like doing shots of vodka: fun spontaneously with friends (used tons of wah in my band) but undeniably more of a worrying moment when you find yourself doing it at home by yourself for a couple hours on a weekday. I've had the '90s Vox V847 reissue since around 1997. The ...

Re: Noel Gallagher Epiphone Riviera
The only Noel sig I routinely remember existing is the Supernova, probably because of this magazine ad that was in every GP and Guitar World for a few years when I was a teenager.

Re: Does anyone remember what happened to my mustang?
That's why I don't sell gear for quick cash, just sperm. Let them hunt me down years later. Then a thousand of your biological children appear one day and sue all your gold hardware strats and les pauls away from you What a creepy scenario you’ve created here; my Strats and Les Pauls of course have...

1974 Gibson Marauder & Ripper 7" gear demo records
From www.flyguitars.com and www.vintageguitarandbass.com In 1974/75 Gibson produced a number of promotional 7" 45 rpm records to promote various new instruments. These included one for the Ripper bass, and one for the Marauder guitar. Unlike the earlier flexi-discs made for the Les Paul Recordi...

Re: Strings for 3/4 acoustic
I know you just bought a new acoustic anyway, but Martin and D'Addario (and apparently a few other brands) make Silk & Steel folk strings, which are very light on the fingies. You don't even have to go with a lighter gauge to get this benefit from them but I believe they only come in a lighter g...

Re: So, I uh, might have done something kind of stupid..
Palmer, Radial and Morley eliminators might be worth looking into.
I find pretty much any hum-cancelling solution to attenuate high end a bit, it's why I think dummy coil pickups are useless (they just make all the best single-coil designs sound that much more humbuckery to my ears).

Re: New Behringer synths
“Inspired by Behringer”: CME’s SWIDI is a Bluetooth MIDI keyboard and step sequencer that looks very familiar We’re used to seeing Behringer taking inspiration from other manufacturers, but other manufacturers taking inspiration from Behringer? That’s not something you hear about so often. Roland l...

Re: So, I uh, might have done something kind of stupid..
Most amps sound like crap unless they're running through a Marshall cab.
Never got complaints from housemates or neighbors until I started using a Vibro Champ in the house. A 100-watt head through a 1960A 4x12 has a way more focused/less abrasive sound, regardless of SPL.

Re: Epiphone Valve Jnr repair
DeoxIT D5 (specifically D5S-6) should be fine to use on pots. DeoxIT seem to think so, though some guys on guitar forums sometimes say it's still bad. It's a lubricating contact cleaner; most aren't and that tends to be the problem with using them on pots as they will dry out any grease or lube in t...
