I've been using a lot more alternate picking lately - starting with an upstroke.

I had an epiphone korina flying V for a while and really loved the way it played and sounded. It was a much nicer feeling guitar than the Gibson faded that I had owned before it.

Jaguar Wiring Mod - Video

I just picked up a Squier VM Jag - it's a really nice guitar. I knew I wanted to throw in new pickups, but I also came across a relatively simple wiring mod that allows you to connect both pickup in either parallel or series. I really like the way it turned out. I think I will probably alternate a l...

You could replace the volume pot with a 250k, and it should be very close to having both the volume and tone pots. If it's still too bright, you could add a resistor - either at the pot, or in line with the hot lead of the pickup.

Whoring new album on vinyl...

We have a new album coming out on Vinyl. It's a split album between Sycamore Smith, and Streetlight Manifesto/Catch-22 frontman Toh Kay. I play bass in Sycamore's band. We covered Streetlight Manifesto songs, and Toh Kay covered Sycamore Smith songs. You can check out a preview video, if you're inte...

I love having the AC tone handy. It's really quite nice sounding, and I've found that it's fairly sturdy. I also use it on my pedal board as a "second channel" when I'm playing bass.

thanks! I've got an 8ohm speaker somewhere that I'm going to pop into it.

Yeah, I was fairly surprised by how responsive the amp could be. It has a channel volume, gain, and master volume, and when tweaked just right, it does a fairly decent job of emulating some tube breakup.

Sadly, I don't think I could get excited enough about pickups to want to go into making them commercially. It's not like the pedal business leaves me the time anyway at the moment. I checked the pickup forum, and the obvious big expense is the winding machine. To make one or two it could be possibl...
