Was playing a juicer at my local guitar shop the other day and, damn, it sounds great through a clean amp as well. I'm strongly considering grabbing one to replace my MXR Distortion III (which I basically use as an overdrive by turning the gain all the way down)!

The Danelectro Black Licorice is pretty disgusting. I actually wouldn't recommend it to anyone... ever.

Wow, EHX went from one of my favorite effects companies to wtf... A few years ago they were releasing innovative pedals like the HOG and now they're just doing a ton of different overdrives?

Whatever...

Pick Attack

Anyone else like to just beat the shit out of their strings with a hard attack during leads?

Sometimes I think this lends itself to a great sound - very punchy.

So this isnt a Jim Dunlop one? Here's a shootout of the dunlop models (alas i know jackshit about fuzzfaces) It is not. It was supposedly made in limited quality by one of the original parties involved with the original fuzz face... hand-wired and such. Unfortunately, the listing for this was remov...

Vintage Guitar - Arbiter Fuzz Face Reissue

Found this. Apparently this write-up was originally written up in 1997, so the pedal may be a bit older than expected. Seems like everyone has good things to say about it though I can't find a ton of concrete information.

Arbiter England Fuzz Face Reissue

http://www.guitaravenue.com/images/photos/fuzzface.jpg Anyone know any details on this (apparently) limited edition reissue of the Fuzz Face by Arbiter England. I believe they were released in the early 2000s. The housing is grey. Just how limited are they? I may have an opportunity to get one for ...

Hey S. Thompson, if he's not interested, I'll buy it off ya for $60. Don't hold back on my account - go for it. :) I've had guitar gear shipped from the US before, but by the time Arselfarce had done their delivery delays and ransom fees with Customs I wished I hadn't bothered. It's more trouble th...

I have a broken one I'm trying to get rid of for teh cheap (~$60). I emailed the guy at Shotgunn mods and he said he would estimate 100$ to fix it. $160 for a modified 90's era micro synth is still fairly cheap. It's a 90's big box one that has been modded to be a bass micro synth and have a two-col...

I swear I do not have paid endorsements for either MXR or Electro Harmonix. I just like their stuff.

Trying to Fund Mastering

I'm trying out Kickstarter to fund the mastering of my recently mixed album.

Take a look at the extra cheesiness of the video. :)

I went from a 100$ solid state no name amp to a '65 Twin Reverb reissue a few years ago.

Pretty big jump...

I think that's about the extent of my ballsy gear-purchasing moves.

EHX Micro Synthesizer (90s Version) Barely Picking Up Notes

So I'm having an issue with my micro synthesizer where it only picks up super loud notes and they aren't sustaining at all.

I know one of the trimpots handles "decay" and another handles gain, but what would be affecting the sensitivity?
