Re: Blackstar Silverline Deluxe

I know this is going to get me some shit. But these silverlines look pretty...which is a plus 1 for me as I will have to have it live somewhere in the house and Mrs Hurb will have to accept its look. The Katanas are pretty fugly no? He's dropped the price to 350 Yeah, that is fair enough; I've been...

Re: Acoustic guitar recommendations

Just checked yesterday... DCPA4 is the model of my Martin. It's worth as much or more than I bought it for 10 years ago

Re: Acoustic guitar recommendations

i'll have to look at the model number as i never remember it, but i love my martin acoustic/electric. got it in 2012 new, and it's only gone from great sounding to even better over the years as the wood has aged. it's not a full out dreadnought, but it is of the larger size, so you get plenty of low...

Re: So, I uh, might have done something kind of stupid..

Most amps sound like crap unless they're running through a Marshall cab. Never got complaints from housemates or neighbors until I started using a Vibro Champ in the house. A 100-watt head through a 1960A 4x12 has a way more focused/less abrasive sound, regardless of SPL. it does have its own voici...

Re: I upgraded my workshop in the basement a little

Nice work, I'm with plops in the envy. I clear off my recording desk and lay down a towel when I want to work on guitars which works ok, but having all the tools in arm's reach has to make setup and breakdown a breeze. Does that back room just not have a lock, or it's not being locked? Situation ou...

Re: So, I uh, might have done something kind of stupid..

I love casters. I used to have them on my old Marshall 80s 4x12 but when I sold that I moved them to my 2x12. Being able to roll stuff around your house FTW 100% though the job i did was not perfect, drilling in casters was the first and only mod i made to the ac30 when i got it. i'm debating if i ...

Re: Recovery Effect Shortwave. lofi vibrato

Agreed, great demo of a super fun effect.

They obviously achieved it with a different approach, but I was bummed not to hear Peaches by Presidents of the United States of America because it's such a dead ringer.

and the tele nick posted looks like the orange mustang i saw last year that inspired me to go with building one when modding it didn't make sense. that orange is so dark, the red stripes do not pop like they do on the paler orange like mine. if you google image search "capri orange", (othe...

Re: '66 Jaguar (oh, my)

$11k? yikes. i'll pay good money for a new instrument, custom build, or even a used one in decent shape. but, even with as bad as inflation is, $10k - 30k+ you see these and other guitars going for is stupid money. it's effectively an antique at this point, like the cars they bring on flatbeds to st...
