Re: Squier Bronco Bass questions

bass single coil (the other idea was a Seymour Duncan P-bass single coil)? The spacing on the single coil 4 pole P-bass pups isn't the same as the string spacing on the Bronco. I tried it a while ago. You could slant it to work, but then you'd have to make the cavity bigger and make a new pickguard...

I just noticed for the first time there's a strap button added to the opposite horn. Thus leading me to assume someone after Jenner and before Cobain, a righty, owned this Jag.

Take a look :http://www.zikinf.com/_gfx/news/fender ... cobain.jpg

Hopefully if I have time this summer I will do something similar to my Bronco, except I'd do a Bass VI and tune it E-E. It certainly won't look as nice as yours though. I do love that all black look you have, especially with the matching headstock. That just makes that bass freakin HAWT

The whole thing looks retardedly fugly. But i kinda like that. I'd prolly tear it apart and customize the shit out of it. Where else can you get parts for a 5 string short scale bass for under 200 bucks? If you're willing to tear it apart then get a SS Squier Jag Bass (or Mustang or whatever) and c...

I used to use .105-.050 strings on my Bronco bass. They're good for standard tuning and that's pretty much it. Then again downtuning a SS bass sounds terrible on the higher frets.

I use a cheap Epiphone humbucker in my Bronco bass and it works good. Is that a humbucker for guitar or bass? Do you think it makes a difference? I'm wondering what to put in my Bronco. No, it's a humbucker taken from a Les Paul, so it's a guitar pickup. I figured since the Bronco comes with a Stra...

I use a cheap Epiphone humbucker in my Bronco bass and it works good. However, for distortion you'd be better off getting a rails-type pickup such as the Seymour Duncan Hot Rails or Dimarzio Chopper. Also, you wouldn't have to worry about the magnets lining up with the strings.

Reminds me of my buddy's vintage Stella acoustic. It's a short scale with no upper fret access. The body is also slightly smaller than a full size acoustic.

I played a fiesta red JS for the first time earlier this week at the local Guitar Center. I liked the neck pup, hated the bridge pup. I'm not used to the 24" scale so it felt weird. For some reason I find the reissue Mustang necks easier to play on. It was terribly set up and some of the upper ...

Where did you get the Mustang body? Or did you make it yourself? I've been thinking about doing some sort of reverse body Mustang build for a while now. Richard Olliver or "Cooterfinger" on here. And cool I just came up with a mosrite style mustang with a reverse body but modified to reac...
