Like someone said earlier... i would never have the nuts to try those block inlays.

I'm impressed...

ha, thanks. My secret was not to think too much about it. Once I started there was no turning back.

Here's my shit right now. The Squier II Strat on the left is my first guitar ever. Right now it's drying in my basement. I've decided to repaint it.

I put ONE layer of clear tape around the very end. The tiny bit of extra width it adds keeps it from falling out but doesn't stop it from swinging down to the patch cord when I'm done with it. This was about four years ago. By now it's a weird mass of gumminess but it still works. http://i26.photobu...

Thanks for the kind words all. I managed to snap some pics as the sun came out for what seems like the first time this summer: http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c137/Ludger/IMGP0336.jpg Here's a colour comparison between the Ocean Turquoise and ReRanch's Sherwood green. Pretty close. It depends on t...

USE BABY OIL for wetsanding. This is what I did and it worked fine for me. Wait, I used mineral oil...and I went up to 2000 grit. I found with 1500 grit it wasn't quite a mirror shine. The 2000 grit made it all better- some slight swirl marks/tiny scratches can be seen in the sun but it was a notic...

I took my guitar out to my brilliant Dutch uncle (built his own house, built a tractor from scratch, etc.) and he figured out the problem. The lead switch was wired wrong. I couldn't find any good pics of what was going on there. Also, the diagram was confusing (to me), particularly this part: http:...

So I finally got the Antiguar Jaguar and I love it. One thing that bothers me is that the paint on the pickguard isn't lacquered, so in my curiousity to look underneath it some paint happened to peel off. Fuck knows how people manage to play them and keep the paint on the pickguard, I may change it...

are you sure the pots are wired correctly? the diagrams are usually from the bottom up. I'm pretty sure I've followed the diagram correctly but thanks for responding. Make sure none of the pots and whatnot are touching the copper shielding inside, I had that happen with my mustang and I didn't real...

I'm pulling my hair out right now. All day Sunday I sanded my ass off. After a few more hours yesterday I finished the copper shielding and wired it all up according to the diagram off the Fender site. Could only hear the rhythm circuit. With the lead selected tapping on the magnets could be heard t...
