wound G/3rd string... holy cow.

anyone using these string sets on their guitars? i've had a mexican 2012 'Pawn Shop' Mustang Special for years and always had problems with the G/3rd string going out of tune and just general intonation issues overall. as close as i could get it, it just never seemed "just right". i can't ...

E standard, with 9s. 22" scale. yes, they were pretty flabby, but you don't need 12s unless you're into that sort of thing. "That sort of thing" being having a guitar without flabby strings? nah, "that sort of thing" like the strings feeling like solid metal rods under your...

definitely the larger headstock overall, but the smaller one looks very classy itself most of the time. i used to think i liked all of the large Fender headstocks, but i grew to hate the one on the Mustang ('65 RI at least). it's just too damn big and "pregnant", looks like a goofy ass pad...

the Kustom came a week or two ago, pretty nice. it's got a fair amount of background hiss though, especially noticeable with the reverb and tremolo engaged. might this be due to the caps drying out over the years and allowing unwanted parts of the signal to bleed through? haven't had a chance to get...

^^ what he said. passive monitors require a separate amp to drive them, while active monitors have amps built into them. i'd recommend active, for sure. that said, if your stereo has a Line In you could go that route as well for the time being (depending on your budget, and your stereo). if you even...
